Our School

About Our School

Tusculum Elementary is a bright, welcoming school of more than 700 Pre-K through Fifth Grade students who beautifully represent the diversity in our southeast Nashville community. Our students hail from at least 30 different countries and speak more than 20 languages.

At Tusculum, students are welcomed into to a cheerful, caring environment. Every day, students have the opportunity to learn core academics with engaging teachers who are trained in a variety of strategies to help students reach their maximum potential.

We have programs to support students of all needs, such as our Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) program for students with unique academic needs and our English Learners program that supports students learning to integrate into a new country while maintaining their own cultural identity.

Beyond the classroom, students are supported with wrap-around social and emotional learning, counseling and social work services. Throughout the week, students also rotate through a series of Related Arts classes like Physical Education, Visual Art, Music and Technology.

Tusculum’s caring environment is a culture that supports more than just students.  At the Family Resource Center, families can pick up Standard School Attire and school supplies as needed. Families can also work with the Family Resource Center for help with practical, everyday needs like food and toiletries. Tusculum also offers programs for parents like English classes, citizenship courses and computer skills classes.
